What skills/abilities can I expect my child to learn at LaunchPad?

  •  Effective communication with peers and teachers
  •  Following simple directions/instructions
  •  Listening attentively and answering questions

  •  Responsibility for their own behaviours and belongings
  •  Respect for peers, sharing and turn taking

What outcomes can I expect my child to achieve at LaunchPad?

* Please note these outcomes are based on children attending the 4-5 year old program for 4 terms (39 weeks)

  •  Hold pencil with correct pencil grip
  •  Use scissors with safety and control
  •  Use glue sticks appropriately
  •  Develop fine motor skills
  •  Develop colouring in and tracing skills
  •  Develop confidence in oral language and communication
  •  Answer questions and engage in learning discussion
  •  Correct formation of lower case letters (Vic modern cursive font)
  •  Recognise, trace and write own name
  •  Begin to identify alphabet letter names
  •  Articulate sounds in their pure form
  •  Develop phonemic awareness
  •  Begin to identify sounds in a given word
  •  Begin to ‘sound out’ 3-letter words
  •  Begin introduction to ‘heart words’
  •  Recognise, sequence and write numbers 0-20
  •  Count forwards and backwards 0-20
  •  Learn to use one to one correspondence when counting objects
  •  Begin to use simple mathematical terms such as before, after, between, larger, smaller
  •  Recognise simple shapes, patterns and colours
  •  Simple addition using concrete materials
